ADMISSIONS POLICY
|
Colegio Granadino’s admission process is clearly defined within the school’s ordinances. Therefore, all families applying to Colegio Granadino must fulfill all admission requirements. The admission process at Colegio Granadino is the result of our expertise in the field of education, as well as our history. Our criteria guarantee students’ maximum development in a harmonious environment and a high quality bilingual academic program. In order for a family unit to be admitted or re-admitted at Colegio Granadino, the following steps are taken in strict order:
1. With the aim to guarantee its quality bilingual and individualized education, class size is reviewed. According to SACS requirements, there must be a maximum of 24 students per class. Once class size has been reviewed, the following are considered:
- Whether the applicant’s sibling is a current student at Colegio Granadino.
- Whether the applicant has withdrawn from the school and whether all charges were covered before leaving.
- Whether the applicant is an alumnus’ child.
- Whether the applicant is an employee’s child.
- Whether the applicant and/or applicant’s family speaks little or no Spanish upon their arrival to Colombia.
- Whether the applicant comes from a school where the main language of instruction is English and/or an
applicant whose parents have gone to school in English speaking countries.
- Whether the applicant’s parents agree with Colegio Granadino’s principles, philosophy, and mission, which is
required of all applicants and their families.
2. Ensure that the profile of applicant families is in agreement with the school's philosophy, mission, structure, and programs, as well as discipline, economic, and academic policies. The sole application process does not imply acceptance of applicants and their families.
